I wish I had the balls to talk to Mr. de la Renta as he was hanging out backstage, but of course I was too awestruck and intimidated to do more than just stare at him. Nevertheless, it was the BEST. DAY. EVER.
I dressed Bruna, and she was spectacularly gorgeous (as we all know).
There at the show, I met and fell inluv with my wedding dress. Nevermind that I don't plan to get married for at least 5 years. Nevermind that everyone around me is getting married -I don't care, I'm not ready (at all)!! Nevermind that the dress is not white. When I saw it, my mind just screamed "wedding dress!!" It was obviously a moment of lasting insanity. The wonderful handcrafted creation was maddeningly exquisitely magnificent. Yes, even all the big superlative words don't suffice.
It rained the whole day, and I found it was the perfect excuse to have a glass of red wine with my perfectly Italian Il Bastardo late lunch. My girlfriend and I hung out at the cozy resto, safe from the raindrops and winds, and had our delightful 4-course meal over talks about fashion and boys. Mmmm, it all equates to a wonderfully girly afternoon. For post-dessert dessert, we headed over to Urban Outfitters (happy place!) on the Upper East and shopped a bit before heading out to Richie Rich's show at the Waldorf Astoria.

That show was crazy wild! Lots of strong vibrant personalities and colorful energy backstage. The whole thing was electric. My favorite part was the ballet portion before the actual fashion show. I am such a sucker for ballets and musicals and always enter a trance-like, googly-eyed euphoric state when presented with such performances.
It was the happiest day of my too-short Fashion Week A/W 09 existence.
